This is the story of a courageous woman who survived Domestic Violence. With the support of compassionate individuals, she found the strength to escape an abusive environment and start over, determined to regain control of her life.

During her healing process, the idea for Dirt Bag® Beauty was born. One evening, her daughters suggested having a spa night, complete with face masks to feel rejuvenated and refreshed. They searched for the perfect mask but were frustrated by the toxic ingredients in the ones they found. Motivated to create something better, she decided to develop her own skincare brand—a line of pure, natural, eco-friendly face masks, free from toxins and fragrances.

The name Dirt Bag® Beauty was chosen not only for its connection to the dry, dirt-like ingredients in their masks but also as a powerful symbol of reclaiming control. It serves as a reminder that, even in the most difficult circumstances, positivity can emerge. The brand reflects the strength and autonomy this woman regained, showing that it’s possible to rebuild one’s life on their own terms.

As a proud female-owned business, Dirt Bag® Beauty is also dedicated to raising awareness about Domestic Violence. A portion of the company’s proceeds supports shelters in California, helping others who are working to regain their independence and strength. Through their story and mission, they hope to inspire others to seek help, rise above their challenges, and reclaim their lives.

Dirt Bag Beauty was one of the first products I decided to sell on The Groovy Ginger. Growing up in a house where domestic violence was a regular occurrence, this brave woman's story truly hit home. What an incredible journey! It must have taken an insurmountable amount of courage to leave everything behind and start over. She not only built a new life for herself and her children but also created a brand and business from the ground up.
